Soul Growth & Meditation

Soul Growth through Meditation

Are you willing to do the inner work that is required for your soul to grow and expand? Will you create the consciousness necessary to not only know Spirit as an intimate part of you, but to also create the life you want?

Nancy McCleary Meditation Altar

My meditation altar includes statues of an angel and Buddha, crystals that were gifts from friends, pictures of Mary and Jesus and a prayer that we used to say with our kids when they were small.

Soul growth and remembering our true divine nature, I believe, is the reason we are here. Life on earth allows us to have experiences that show us the parts of us that need to be healed or the parts of us that need to change in order to attain higher states of consciousness.

Inner work can’t be avoided once we truly feel the awakening of our consciousness. It is the only way for our soul to grow and remember that which we are seeking; a connection to the divine. It also can’t be done for us-it’s our own personal responsibility.

For me, my inner work truly began when I committed to my meditation practice. I had “tried” for years to meditate, but I couldn’t seem to stick with it. I would use the excuse that I couldn’t settle my mind down, and it didn’t work for me. The truth is, our minds don’t want to settle down, but we must have the commitment and discipline to see our meditation practice through. If you sit in meditation with the intention that you will stay there until you are quiet, you will experience a breakthrough in your quest for a new level of consciousness.

I know that meditation is the space where we can truly connect to the divine; to have an experience and recognition that we are truly made in the energetic likeness of Spirit. It is the space of pure bliss. In meditation, I can lose track of time and space, and feel intense, indescribable love. This is what Spirit is and this is available to all of us!

Here are a few tips to make your commitment to meditation easier:

• Create a sacred space in your home where you will meditate. This is your place for connecting to Spirit and it is only for this purpose. You can design it in any way you like, but consider having a table with sacred objects, crystals and sculptures or pictures of deities that speak to your heart. You are stating emphatically that it is your intention to connect to the divine as you sit in your meditation area. Use a meditation cushion or a comfortable chair that allows you to sit upright. I like to play sacred music when I am meditating, such as the cd Cosmic Hum by Jonathan Goldman.

• Schedule it! If it is truly important to you to awaken your consciousness and experience soul growth, you will make the time every day to meditate. You may have to get up earlier, or give up something during your evening hours. You may have to resist the prodding of the people you live with to skip your meditation…just this once. It is worth it to commit to your soul’s growth and your connection to Spirit!

• Remember why you are meditating. Connecting to The Higher Power – can it get any better! This is the place where you create the life that is heaven on earth. Your soul grows, your consciousness expands, worry ceases and love expands!

I promise you that as you shift your life to be more Spirit focused, your life will change in ways unimaginable to you now.

Remember Who You “Really” Are

The energy of our world is shifting. Big changes are happening and you can remember who you “really” are!

The systems that have been set up are crumbling.

And that means it is the perfect time to go within and connect to your spirituality.remember who you really are

Use these changes as a time to find your deeply personal relationship with Source.

Open up to your intuition. Trust it. It is the divine speaking to you.

Remember who you “really” are!

How?

Commit! Your daily spiritual practice is the most important thing that you can do

Rearrange! Set up a space in your home specifically for your practice.

Listen! Are you too busy thinking or talking to hear?

Learn! There are so many books & seminars to help us understand “who we really are.”

Feel good! You are in charge of your energy. Choose to feel light and hopeful.

I am blessed to have Spirit speak through me. What always comes through is that we are loved beyond measure, we are eternal and we are one with Source.

To your Oneness with Spirit!

My prayer for Inner Strength

We have Inner Strength because of our Connection to Spirit

Deep, soul writing connects us to Spirit and to Truth. Somehow, Truth works its way onto the pages in ways that we can’t predict. We’re not talking venting here, but really connecting to our Inner Voice; the voice of our Soul through our pen and paper. There are times when we are so filled with doubt about so many things, that we finally come to the place where we surrender and realize that there is a Higher Power that we are intimately connected to. UpI am a divine being until that moment, we have not completely embraced our Truth.

There have been some simple, yet powerful prayers that have come from my own soul writing, and I would like to share one with you. It came at a time when I needed to be reminded of my True Nature. I am a divine being- and so are you!

Dear Spirit,

My power is restored; self-doubt erased. I know where my power lies- with You- and therefore I can no longer have self-doubt.

I am on Purpose, knowing I am moving closer to You.

Self-doubt is an illusion. The Truth is pure consciousness. I simply can’t doubt myself when I am connected to You.

Amen

3 Tips to Help You with Your Meditation Practice

3 Tips to help you with meditation

1) Do a brain dump!

Keep a notebook near you where you meditate and just before you begin, take a few moments to get the thoughts that are keeping you from having a still mind out of you and onto the paper. Write 3 pages worth! Get it out! Release the chatter! It won’t take long and your mind will be much clearer and you will have fewer random thoughts during your meditation. Keep in mind, your meditation practice is just that; a practice. You will get more and more comfortable and adept as you go. Julia Cameron, Author of The Artist’s Way suggests writing 3 “morning pages” as a way to open to creativity, but I find that it works beautifully for settling the mind down for meditation.

2) Create a Sacred Space for your Meditation Practice

You, your mind, and the divine will all understand your intention of accessing the peaceful, loving, calm energy of Spirit. By having a physical space dedicated to connecting to All That Is, you can be sure that your meditation will go more smoothly and you will begin to feel the positive results of having a meditation practice. I have created an altar that I sit in front of each morning. On it, I have my angels, and all of the other items that are important to me for my meditation practice. You might have crystals, candles or pictures /statues of Jesus or Buddha.

3) Be Consistent

Make the decision that you will make meditation a part of your day, every day. Start with 5-10 minutes. I think most people set their expectations so high that they can’t ever really commit to a meditation practice. Do not expect to never have a random thought as you sit in the lotus position for 45 minutes! It’s unrealistic and you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

So be easy on yourself. Remember that the intention is to access Love. It’s what Spirit and YOU are all about!

Speak Your Truth

speak your truth

Decide that you will become someone who calmly and confidently asks for what you want or need.

Can you feel the power in the word decide? Decide means to settle conclusively all contention or uncertainty about something. So, with this decision, you are on your way to speaking your truth and always showing up with authenticity and integrity. We can look at a decision as a commitment, and in this case it is a commitment to ourselves.

You see, speaking up and sharing what is important to you in a calm and confident manner, shows that you value your own needs and wants and that those needs and wants are important. If we don’t value ourselves or take ourselves seriously, then how can we expect the rest of the world to? What you desire and have to say is just as important as what anyone else desires or has to say.

Perhaps you have fallen into the trap of being a people pleaser, or sacrificing what you want because you don’t want to rock the boat or you think there is something noble in being a martyr. Have you ever sacrificed what you wanted because you thought the other person would like or love you more?

Speak your truth, but listen to what others have to say as well. Collaborate and co-create the best outcome, solution or event. Honor other viewpoints, just as you would want your opinions and needs to be valued. Just remember that what you have to say is important.

This is true with your relationship to Spirit too. Spirit wants to co-create with you, but you must be willing to ask and state your needs and desires with confidence, faithful that you are heard. Spirit answers us in ways that we can’t even begin to imagine. What you want, say and ask for all matter. The important thing is to speak your truth.

A powerful affirmation to repeat that will help you speak your truth is:

I value myself, and therefore others value me. I trust that Spirit hears me and that my prayers are answered.

As always, remember, You are Loved!

Namaste!

Meditation Will Transform Your Life

www.nancymccleary.com

This beautiful Angel sits on my altar.

Taking time each day to connect to the Divine will transform your life. That’s a bold statement, but one that is filled with truth. Here are just a few “benefits”!

1- You will ultimately discover that there is more to you than your body. You have heard that before; even Sting sings about it when he tells you that “we are spirits in a material world”, but there is a profound difference between this idea on an intellectual level and having experienced your spirit during meditation. You can actually feel the truth of who you really are in that quiet connection to Source.

2-On a mundane level, that sense of peace attained during meditation can be carried over into your day to day activities. People in your life feel your patience, your love and your joy. You find that things go more smoothly for you because you literally are one with the Universe. You always are and always will be; the difference is that you are able to be more conscious of it.

3-Your intuition is expanded. You quiet the left-brain chatter and tune in to your right brain, the seat of your intuition. More of those “intuitive hits” happen, and that is spirit communicating with you, and it won’t ever steer you wrong. Intuition is a gift and the more you acknowledge it and act upon it, the stronger it becomes and it will come more often.

Many people say to me that it is too hard for them to meditate. They can’t get their mind to be quiet. You may have a chatty mind, but don’t set the expectation that you have to attain “monk status” and be a perfect meditator. Just begin. Meditate for 5 minutes a day for seven days. Then set another goal: 10 minutes a day for another seven days. You will come to the point where meditation is a part of your life with such deep meaning that you will not want to go a day without it. If I can help you in any way with this, please let me know.
